In response to Tom Delohery's e-mail about releasing the CONSORT/VAX code to
the public domain, I would like to make clear our policy recarding the
CONSORT/VAX source code (including ACQ8, DISP2D, and DISP4).
We have made, and will continue to make, the CONSORT/VAX source code
available to BDIS customers who have purchased CONSORT/VAX systems in the
past from BDIS. The source code is provided only under a signed license
agreement, provided as-is, and at the cost to reproduce and ship the media.
We do not plan on releasing the source code to the public domain.
(On a separate but related note, the Attractors software _can_ read
list-mode data files generated from CONSORT/VAX ACQ8. However, we did not
perform extensive validation of various data files from the VAX, therefore
are hesitant to make claims regarding complete support. If you have such
files, please contact your instrument sales representative and arrange a
demo of the Attractors software...they should be able to test your data
files for you provided you can get them over to a Macintosh.)
If Dr. Delohery or any other CONSORT/VAX customers needs to obtain the
source code, please contact me directly.
Best Regards,
Mike Lance
