Direct Virus Measurement?

In response to a question from upper management, I pose the following question
to the community: Has anyone attempted to directly quantitate virus particles by
flow cytometry by using either anti-capsid antibodies or live nucleic acid
stains? If so, how well or poorly did it work, and are there any pertinant
references?
Thanks for any responses.
