Included are lab histories, career histories, personal essays, history survey responses, photos, videos, quotes, and much more. The material is from people who responded to our numerous public announcements and calls for contributions. Many people have supported us in this project, and have taken extra time to do research for this history compilation. We acknowledge that details about people and their research contributions may have been omitted. We appreciate everyone’s efforts, and hope we have recognized you here. Any omissions are both unintentional and completely unforgivable. We thank Philip Dean for his early involvement and long-time dedication to preserving the history of cytometry. We thank the following contributors:
The video documentaries included on this disc provide insights into what was taking place during the early years of flow cytometry, as well as information on the chrononology of events. Many of the segments come from the Smithsonian Archives, and we gratefully acknowledge the work of Ramundas Kondratas and his team of documentarians there. We also appreciate the work of Elena Holden and Louis Kamentsky, and the team at the CompuCyte Corporation, who developed the presentation of Louis Kamentsky on the history of developments in cytometry.
We also thank Sony DADC for their enthusiastic support and technical assistance with this project. They have facilitated our venture into DVD-video production.
