storage of blood samples

Hello Flowlanders
For a study later this year we need to consider either the
storage of antibody labeled blood or the storage of blood
for batch staining for approximately three days.
For the first approach I would like to use whole blood
labeling followed by a fixative lysing method. As the
potential combination of commercial antibody sources / kits
versus fixative lysing methods is mind-blowing, I wondered
if someone had undertaken such thing before and could give
me some recommendations.
The alternative way would be an attempt to preserve the
blood. Can anyone comment on preservative solutions like
the Streck Cyto-chex? Unfortunately that is only supposed to
work with EDTA-blood, but perhaps similar products might
even work with heparinised blood and thus potentially allow
to perform functional assays like phagocytosis or burst
after more than 24 hours.
Thanks in advance
