Now that I'm using it routinely I'll ask the same question - anybody tried
it ?
We do retics on 15-20% of our samples and so far it's proving very good,
much much better than TO.
The ability of the two dimensional metachromatic aspect to find it's own
"unstained" mature RBC's appears to be the key.
Although still collating data, our ref.range is coming out at a tight 0.8
to 2.0% and before anyone says "what about the absolutes" - we cannot give
one due to 60% of Omanis carrying the Alpha thal traits 1 and 2 !
In essence we have three overlapping "normal" ranges for RBC indices.
