Overview

The Scientist/Sr Scientist will be responsible for managing the flow cytometry facility for Iovance’s Research, Translational Research, and Process Development groups located in Tampa, Florida. Iovance’s research focuses on studying tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) for the treatment of cancer.
 

Specific Responsibilities:

·       Oversee a multi-user flow cytometry facility including instrument maintenance and standardization

·       Train new users and establish Standard Operating Procedures

·       Serve as key technical advisor in collaborations with research personnel

·       Design and implement experiments aimed at understanding clinical efficacy of TIL therapy

·       Initiate and manage outside services providing advanced flow cytometry assays

·       Present experimental results in written documents and oral presentations in internal and external meetings

Education and Qualifications:

·       Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field. A PhD in a relevant field is a plus.

·       A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with hands-on experience running and maintaining cell sorters and analyzers

·       Fluency with current flow data analysis software

·       Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills

·       Experience with high dimensional flow analysis is a plus

·       Good knowledge of assay design and qualification

·       Ability to teach and transfer knowledge

·       Knowledge of immuno-oncology is a plus

·       Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals from internal Research staff to executive team, collaborators, and CROs

·       Highly motivated individual who adapts to new situations and wants to be part of a dynamic and growing team
